Saturday August 28 - 10:00am - Cervelo Ride

Who wants to go ride a Cervelo? Like maybe Thor Hushovd’s S3 with Zipp wheels and Sram Red, or how about Carlos Sastre’s R3sl? Yeah, that sounds fun.
On Saturday August 28th I’m going to combine a West Island/Mac Campus ride with a Cervelo demo day at Synergy Cycles in Point Claire.
The plan:
•Leave from the gates at 10:00am and ride out to Mac Campus for 2 laps of the maze
•Return to Pointe Claire and stop at the coffee shop across the street from Synergy at about 11:45
•Demo a sweet Cervelo for a bit
•Cry because I can’t afford a sweet Cervelo, get back on my bike and return home
Pace will be intermediate. If you don’t want to demo you can always just come for the ride and continue home instead of stopping at synergy. If you want to demo, you have to pre-register using the link below.

I did this in Calgary, I gotta say it was nice to ride a bike worth more than everything I own put together.

Yeah Chris, it's a coffee shop, not a hash bar. But I'm sure you'll be fine on the ride anyway.

The gates are on Sherbrooke and McGill College. (Main entrance to campus)

Good question. Based on a flat road with no wind I would categorize as follows:
Beginner < 30 km/h avg
Intermediate = 30-37 km/h
Advanced > 37km/h
I have no idea if my opinion is in line with the majority of McGill, but for Saturday's ride I would count on 33-35 km/h cruising speed out to Mac Campus. There might be some faster parts but we always regroup and ride together. When we get to Mac everyone can go their own pace for a couple laps, then mid 30's for the way home again.
You can always come and just not take pulls on the front if the pace gets too hot

One, i feel like speed is relative as mac is pretty pancake flat, so km/ph is pretty high and only slowed down due to the vast amount of stop signs and red lights that you encounter on the latter part of the ride. Knowing both the riding styles of graeme and chris, this ride is more in the Upper Intermediate level.
I'll be at the atwater bridge at 10:10 if i'm coming, but it's frosh and i'm on duty so it could be a long night.

I'll be coming. I have to go to synergy anyways. By bike makes ticking noises when pedaling under load.
