carbon is a curse: you love it, and you despise it.

i've had a bad mood for 3 weeks because i know my better half to be injured and am anticipating her to forsake me at any ride now considering all the horror stories you hear...

...but can't envisage ever resting my posterior atop a heap of aluminum again

congrats john, but you'll drive yourself crazy looking at it the entire winter!

[1] Leader U.S.A 735TR 2008 Track Frame - With random parts
[2] Specialized S-Works Langster 2008 - Stock... for the moment
[3] Specialized Rock Hopper 2008 Pro Disc - Stock... single (freewheel) once the rear derailleur gives out, which it probably will.

Anyone have free Zipp 1080's with chub hubs? ;)

My new (as of this summer) Redline Monocog Flight 29er, set up as a 1x9. Sounds like a gimmicky bike, but it rocks.

The rear hub is one of my favorite parts, a Hope Pro II disc. The shell and bearings are very reminiscent of Paul Components, whose fixed hubs, I find, would be a better choice than the new and much more dubious version of the Chub Hubs, for about the same amount of dough:

It still needs a seatpost with a bit more setback to accommodate the Brooks, and a new bar-stem combo is in the works, hopefully something more swoopy, and a bit narrower with less rise. I plan to retire my yellow SS and press this guy to double-duty as a street bike once I get some skinnier touring tires.

I have a 404 set im just playing around with an old HED Disc. As Jason would say "TT Party?"

man that's sexy. Why the huge gap between rear wheel and seatpost fairing though?

Are you riding that off track at all?

Do you have the gossamer crank? Did the Rotor Q-rings clean up the front shifting and do they really do anything for your pedal stroke? I'm sorta surprised they are bringing back the eccentric chainring.

No I got Ultegra crank. I could have got gossamer but I liked Ultegra more. As for the front shifting I was on Compacts previously and It shifts a lot smother then them. No problems with the front shifting that I have had. As for the pedal stroke you only really notice the difference when you are off the seat or doing single leg pedaling. Besides that it feels pretty much the same. It did not take my legs any time at all to adjust to them.
